I decided to make a ZooBurst on plant vs. animal cells. It is a quick review that I would use for students who are struggling to notice the major differences between the two. To be honest I really don't like using ZooBurst now that I have tried it. When I resized the pictures you then couldn't see the labels for the cells. I didn't find it super user friendly to use and it seemed like every other icon they were trying to get you to purchase the feature. I think it would be good for student to use, but I think there are much better options like Prezi, Glogster, etc. I'm sure I might like it more if I kept using it, but with all the other options out there I don't see myself using ZooBurst any time soon. I think I will use Storybird next time. I have used it before is why I tried out ZooBurst.

Pimp My Presentation
I have been out of town for a few weeks so I am trying to catch back up. I decided to make a Prezi. I have tried to use it in the past and with everything spinning around it was driving me crazy. I just used smart notebook instead. I decided to try to convert an old powerpoint presentation about myself I used a few years ago. I was surprised just how easy it was. I think this would be a good thing to show staff quickly during a technology training? I also took a look at popplet and it looks good. I tried to make one, but it came up blank on my computer? Glogster looks like it would be great for student presentations. Here is the link to the prezi. I still need to make it fancy.

Camp Activity 1
I would use this video to show students examples of chemical vs. physical change and explaining the particle model/density. Steve Splanger has many good videos explaining various aspects of science. Most of these are fairly simple and can be safely done at home.
The gadgets I added were the followers, popular posts, and external links.
I thinks blogs can be useful in the classroom as a tool to post assignments, notices, and useful information pertaining to what you are covering in class. They are easy to use and make updates to, so using a blog in this way make thing simple for teachers.
Some of the other blog layouts that would be useful are Edmodo and Schoology. They are both designed with education in mind and have that Facebook feel to them that so many student are accustomed to.
First Post
I became a web 2.0 camper because I wanted to be super cool like our tech genius Emily. I also wanted to find new tools I can use in the classroom.
I hope to learn new ways to bring useful technology and tools into my classroom.
This summer I'm hoping to go camping, fishing any day possible, and visiting family back in Ohio.
